Comedy Show, Halloween Crafts and Western Festival!

Dive into fall festivities this weekend; we've got five family-friendly activities you're sure to enjoy.

 

LOWE'S BUILD AND GROW WORKSHOP

Where/When: Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse, 30481 Avenida De Las Flores, Rancho Santa Margarita. Saturday, October 8, 10 a.m.

Why Go: Kids can make a Monster Machine at this bi-monthly event; they’ll love all the monster combinations they’ll be able to create from their craft.

Pricing: FREE

FAMILY NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY

Where/When: Rancho Santa Margarita Library, 30902 La Promesa, Rancho Santa Margarita. Thursday, October 6, 7 p.m.

Why Go: This fun event is a must for the whole family.  Singin’ Green will perform music and comedy in a show filled with laughs, tunes and a groovin’ good time. Arrive early for good seating.

Pricing: FREE.

DOLLAR MOVIES

Where/When: Woodbridge Movies 5, Barranca Parkway, Irvine. Daily showtimes vary.

Why Go: Missed Captain America or Cars 2 in 3D at your local theater? Come watch all your favorite flicks for a fraction of the price; don’t forget your dollar hot dogs, too.

Pricing: $2 per person, 3D movies $4 per person, $1 on Tuesdays.

TANAKA FARMS

Where/When: 5380 University Drive, Irvine. Open daily through October, 9-5 p.m.

Why Go:  It’s that time of year again! The whole family will enjoy this 30- acre farm, complete with wagon rides, corn maze, petting zoo, games, crafts and art projects (weekends only) and u-pick vegetables and pumpkins.

Pricing: Varies. Pumpkins priced per weight. U-pick vegetables $2.99/lb.

SILVERADO CANYON COUNTY FAIR

Where/When: 27641 Silverado Canyon Drive, Silverado. Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9, 10-5 p.m.; music  from 5-9 p.m.

Why Go: The 41st Annual Silverado County Fair promises to be a great time for the whole family. Dress in Western wear and come down for arts and crafts, country music, 1800’s period activities, great food and much more. Bands including Three Blind Mice and the Mike Reilly Band will perform Saturday night starting at 5 p.m.

Pricing: $5 per adults, $3 per kids age 3-12, $5 per person for music after 5 p.m.
