Melinda Heights Elementary Tribute to Jordan Stanton
Melinda Heights Elementary third grade class creates a special tribute to Jordan Stanton and the rest of the school follows.
A third-grade class at Melinda Heights Elementary responded to the news this week that Marine Cpl. Jordan Stanton was killed in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. They made signs of appreciation and posted them on the street along Melinda Road.
Then the whole school got involved.
On Wednesday, the family of Kelly Loaiza, who is in Mrs. Kelly Davidson's class, was putting the posters up on the median. They told Patch that they hope to have people line the street from the elementary school all the way to Trabuco Hills during a service next week "Tuesday or Wednesday." Details are still sketchy, but be on the lookout if you'd like to honor Cpl. Stanton.

Jordan worked for us as a lifeguard for a couple of years before joining the Marines. He was truly an incredible person and one of the best employees we have ever had. Even after joining the Marines he would stop by the pool and say hi when he was in town. We are deeply sadden to hear of this tragedy and send our deepest heartfelt condolences to his family.
RIP Jordan - until we meet again. Your friedns at Safe Swim

Thank you so much for doing this. It is important to teach the kids about the sacrifice our soldiers make for their freedom. There is no greater service than they perform for our country. Jordan, is the nephew of two of my close HS friends and I know their family is grateful for what you have done.
