Police Blotter: Woman Robbed In Front of Tutto Fresco

Also, a resident spots a mountain lion behind her residence, and a “screaming match” has a sporting element.

A woman was robbed in front of the Tutto Fresco restaurant late Sunday afternoon, about 20 minutes before sundown.

The victim said she was pushed down by a man, who then grabbed her wallet and ran past City Hall and Central Park toward the direction of the Rancho Santa Margarita Public Library.

The woman was left bleeding after the attack.

Two witnesses said they saw the male suspect run toward an apartment complex behind BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse, but Orange County Sheriff Deputies—whose office is part of the City Hall complex—were unable to catch the man.

The woman said the suspect was wearing a blue and white striped jacket, black basketball shorts and black and blue running shoes; he also had white headphones and was carrying a DVD. He was described as being about 6 feet tall, 230 pounds with short black hair.

The call came in around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, from the 22100 block of El Paseo.

Woman spots mountain lion behind her residence

A woman reported seeing a mountain lion behind her Rancho Santa Margarita residence early Saturday morning. The Department of Fish and Game were notified, because two more witnesses confirmed seeing the same wild feline. The Department of Fish and Game logged the sighting in a report but did not respond to the scene.

The call came in around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, from Paseo del Sol.

"Screaming match" isn't what it appears to be

A caller was concerned about a man and woman who were screaming at a residence on the corner of their street. The informant was concerned that the fight was escalating because she could hear the man begin to scream hysterically.

Deputies investigated and determined that there was no argument going on at the residence. Instead, the man was merely cheering for the San Francisco 49ers to win their game over the New Orleans Saints, which they did with a last-second touchdown.

The call came in around 4:55 p.m. on Saturday, from Via Ricardo and Leaf Lane.

Woman spots Mt. Lion call came from Paseo del Sol.

Thats significantly in land from the O'neil Canyon.....not uncommon to see them on very edge of the local canyons around the homes, but that street is about 1/4 mile or more from the Canyon (via google maps). Must have been pretty hungry and looking for an easy pet dinner .
