Police Blotter: Burglar Targets Vehicles in Dove Canyon Neighborhood

A burglar targeted a number of vehicles parked in a Dove Canyon neighborhood Saturday morning, according to three calls made to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The first caller notified deputies that his vehicle had been broken into around 8:45 a.m. A second caller reported a theft from his vehicle about two hours later.
The third caller said her vehicle had been targeted about two minutes earlier, and informed deputies that at least 13 cars were broken into in the surrounding neighborhood.
The call came in around 8:45 a.m. from Glen Iris. The second call came in around 11 a.m., from Indian Pipe. The third call came in around 11 a.m., from Barneburg. All of the calls were made on Saturday.
Man treats neighbor's porch like a convenience store
A woman said that a neighbor keeps stealing packs of cigarettes that she keeps on the porch of her Coto de Caza residence. According to the woman, the man has been helping himself to the cigarettes for more than two months.
The call came in around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, from the 100 block of Via Candelaria.
Transvestite has a little something for motorists
A caller said a transvestite was standing on the corner of Avenida de las Flores and Santa Margarita Parkway in Rancho Santa Margarita late Friday night, lifting his dress and flashing passing motorists.
The call came in around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, from the 100 block of Via Candelaria.

Traffic Hazard 7:37 p.m. Monday, on Santa Margarita Parkway and Alicia Parkway. A caller said there was a piece of furniture in the middle of the right lane on Santa Margarita Parkway.
Traffic Stop 10:39 p.m. Sunday, on Antonio Parkway and Bienvenidos. Deputies arrested a 20-year-old man, who is being held without bail at the Theo Lacy Facility.
Family Dispute 5:33 p.m. Sunday, on Osoberry Street. A man said his 15-year-old daughter tried to kick him during an argument before running into the front yard.
Reckless Driving 2:43 p.m. Sunday, on Robinson Ranch Road and Meadowpark Lane. A caller said a neighbor was riding his motorcycle up and down Robinson Ranch Road.
Shots Heard 1:18 a.m. Sunday, on Brentwood. An informant reported hearing a gun being fired.
Suspicious Person/Circumstances 5:18 p.m. Saturday, on Via Meseta. A woman said a woman who had followed her the night before was standing in front of her residence.
Suspicious Person/Circumstances 5:06 p.m. Saturday, on Santa Margarita Parkway and Buena Suerte. A caller said a man, who appeared disoriented, was staring at kids at a playground.
Burglary Report 6:59 a.m. Saturday, on Brassie Lane. A man said someone had smashed the front window of his white Ford E250 when it was parked in front of his residence. No items were missing from the vehicle.
Traffic Stop 12:12 a.m. Saturday, on Coto de Caza Drive and Dornoch Way. Deputies arrested a 22-year-old man, who was released after posting bond from the Intake Release Center.
Suspicious Person/Circumstances 1:47 p.m. Tuesday, on Antonio Parkway and Via Verde. A caller said a man was trying to open car doors for more than an hour. Deputies arrested a 25-year-old man, who was released from the Intake Release Center.
Disturbance 11:44 p.m. Friday, on Via Macita. An employee from Friends Sports Bar said a man, who had pushed a table over inside the bar before being escorted out, refused to leave the premises.
Disturbance—Music or Party 10:07 p.m. Friday, on Paseo Primero. An informant said there were about 100 youths partying at a nearby house.
Patrol Check 9:46 p.m. Friday, on Santa Margarita Parkway and Antonio Parkway. Animal Control needed assistance with a loose dog that kept running into traffic.
Assist Outside Agency 11:04 a.m. Friday, on Trabuco Creek Road and Trabuco Canyon Road. A caller said someone was flashing an SOS sign with their flashlight. Deputies were able to find the lost hikers.
