What's coming up and going down in the Rancho Santa Margarita area.

• Sentencing is expected to be handed down today to the former UC Irvine professor who set several fires and wrote in his journal that he would kill hundreds of high school students.

• The Blind Pig is open for business in the Mercado del Lago. Here are the specifics.

• Have you checked out the RSM Music and Theater Scene blog by Andy Nagle? This one details an upcoming show at the Coach House pitting the Beatles against the Rolling Stones. It sounds awesome.

• Comedian Ralphie May, who shot onto the radar as part of the reality show "Last Comic Standing," is scheduled to perform at The Improv at the Spectrum, tonight, 8 p.m.

• Jazz musician Steve Tyrell performs at the Coach House Friday, 8 p.m. Tickets are $35.
