South County Outreach Announces Volunteer Recruitment

Lake Forest, Calif. – South County Outreach seeks more volunteers to serve families in need in South Orange County. South County Outreach is a volunteer-based organization with over 250 regularly scheduled volunteers and 2,000 annual volunteers who help throughout the year to assist the 3,000 residents it serves each month. Volunteers help with many aspects of the organization including sorting food and stocking shelves in the food pantry, driving trucks to pick up donations, sorting and cashiers at Upscale Resale Thrift Store, teaching classes at the Computer Learning Lab, to data entry and much more.

“I volunteer at South County Outreach because I feel what I do there is really important. Sure, I do different things, and some aren’t that earth shattering, but whatever I do, I get the feeling that it is important,” says a volunteer. “Sometimes I see people come in the front door and they may be near to tears. But when they leave, more often they have a smile, or don’t seem so beat down. That is why I like volunteering here.”
