Tesoro Varsity Song Wins National Titles

The Tesoro High School Varsity Songleading Team competed at the 2014 NDA School National Championship in Orlando, Florida this month.  The team was honored with two titles of 1st Place National Champion for both their Jazz and Team Performance entries. The girls also qualified to compete in the International Cup where they received the top placement in their division for the US teams, coming in third overall.    This year's Varsity squad consists of 17 athletes lead by captains:  Delani Diaz, Bri Murtland and Taylor Pascua.  Team members include: Lauren Anjard, Emily Aung, Shelby Brown, Victoria Brown, Jessica Chirinos, Katie Christensen, Kayla Coleman, Christine Compania, Taylor Corea, Frankie Dunivin, Ashley Hansen, Marissa Oudt, Cassidy Wolford, Brianna Zukowski and freshman Danica Bartholomew of the JV team who filled in for an injured team member.  The girls traveled with their song coach, Danielle Calta and head coach, Robin Hamren.  Besides competing locally and nationally, the team loves cheering for their Tesoro Titans at Varsity Football and Basketball games.  Information for the 2014-2015 team tryouts can be found at www.tesorocheer.com
