Bruxie Celebrates Life of Young Cancer Victim

Kabrina Cressey's favorite treat is on sale Saturday, and the restaurant will match the first $500 in donations to assist her family.

Bruxie is proud to present “Kabrina Day” at its Rancho Santa Margarita location on Saturday.

The gourmet waffle sandwich shop is celebrating the memory of Kabrina Cressey, who lost a her battle with cancer on Aug. 29. She was 15.

One of the Coto de Caza girl's favorite treats while undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Children's Hospital of Orange County in Orange was a Bruxie Burger with grilled onions and a strawberry lemonade from the original Bruxie restaurant.

After having introduced many of her close friends, family members, as well as several of the CHOC nurses to the restaurant, operators there were delighted to hear that Bruxie's third restaurant opened just minutes from Kabrina's residence.

To honor Kabrina and help her family—parents Brian and Karen and brother Austin—Bruxie will offer the "Kabrina Special," a Bruxie Burger and strawberry lemonade, for the reduced $8.95 on Saturday. Restaurant staff will be taking donations from guests, and will match up to $500.

The event was put together by Kabrina's best friend, Lauren Goldenberg.
