A Lexus crashed into equipment and knocked out power to more than 70 homes in Rancho Santa Margarita on Sunday evening.

The crash took place about 5:05 p.m., near the corner of Floramar and Palmera when a Lexus jumped the curb from a parking stall.

Southern California Edison said 72 homes were affected and could lose power 8-10 hours and up to 12 hours.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the vehicle hit two fuse boxes and left wires exposed.
