Grab 'n' Go Kids Planner: Easter Eggs, Bunnies and Bouncies

Check out five places you can spot the Easter bunny, hunt for eggs and enjoy free games and activities for the whole family this weekend.

SPRING FLING

Where/When: Central Park next to City Hall, Rancho Santa Margarita. Saturday, April 23, 1-4 p.m.

Why Go: This special community event is sure to be a hit. A petting zoo, pony rides, crafts, carnival games, bounce houses and face painting are just a few of the activities to be expected here. Popular vendors such as Baja Fresh, Kettle Korn, and Kurts Hot Dog Catering will be on site. An egg hunt will take place; children will hunt at varying times depending on age. 1-3 p.m.: Ages 2 and under and special needs children; 3:20 p.m.:  ages 3-4; 3:30 p.m.:  ages 5-7; 3:40 p.m.: ages 8-9 and 3:50 p.m.: ages 10-12.

Pricing: FREE. Food available for a nominal fee.

EASTER FAMILY FAIR

Where/When: Mount of Olives Church, 24772 Chrisanta Drive, Mission Viejo. Saturday, April 23, 11:00 a.m.

Why Go: Carnival games, miniature golf, a 25-foot shark slide, petting zoo, crafts, fun raffles and face painting are a few of the highlights of this free fair for the whole family. Lunch from In-N-Out Burger and other vendors available for a nominal fee.

Pricing: Most events are free; some rides require 50 cent tickets; food available for a nominal fee.

5th ANNUAL EASTER FESTIVAL AND TREASURE HUNT

Where/When: OC Marketplace, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. Saturday, April 23. Events begin at 9:30 a.m.

Why Go: A free egg hunt for kids begins at 10 a.m. Kids can search for the golden ticket and receive a special prize. Free face painting takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and free photos with the Easter bunny are available as well. The River Otter Circus will entertain kids with a free puppet show at 10:30 a.m., and from 9:30 –12:30 kids can have a chance to make a pair of their own bunny ears. There is truly something for everyone.

Pricing: $2 per adult; kids 12 and under are FREE.

EGGSTRAVAGANZA

Where/When: Laguna Hills Community Center and Sports Complex, 25555 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills. Friday, April 22, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Why Go: This is South Orange County’s most anticipated event of the season. Put on by Compass Bible Church, Eggstravaganza includes bounce houses, face painting, balloons, goodie bags, an egg hunt for all ages and food and drinks from popular vendors.

Pricing: This event is entirely FREE; no charge for food.

DANA POINT EGG HUNT

Where/When: Pines Park at 34941 Camino Capistrano, Dana Point or Sea Canyon Park, 33093 Santiago Drive, Dana Point.  Saturday, April 23; both events begin at 10 a.m.

Why Go: The Easter bunny plans to make an appearance at this fun event, geared for children of all ages. Games, face painting, a petting zoo and an egg hunt are just a few of the activities kids can count on enjoying on this special day.
