Grab 'n Go Kids Planner: Lions, Legos and Paintbrushes

From toddlers to teens, we have something for everyone on the "I'm bored!" list this week.

Where/When: 22312 El Paseo Plaza, Suite F, Rancho Santa Margarita. Kids Day: Wednesdays. Open 11 -6 p.m.

Why Go: Color Me Mine is a unique ceramic art studio where kids and adults alike can escape to create. Choose from over 500 pieces and paint your own, one-of- a-kind piece, then leave it to be glazed, fired and packaged. Wednesdays are Kids Days, where children ages 12 and under can paint for just a $4 studio fee.

Pricing: $4 studio fee on Wednesdays. Ceramic pieces vary in price.

TODDLER AND PRESCHOOL STORY TIME

Where/When: , 30902 La Promesa, Rancho Santa Margarita. Toddler time: 10:15 a.m. Mondays thru Wednesdays. Preschool time: 11 a.m. Mondays thru Wednesdays.

Why Go: Toddlers and preschoolers can enjoy special stories, finger plays, felt boards and crafts during these story times each week. Toddler time is geared toward 18 mos-3 years, preschool time geared toward 3-5 years old.

Pricing: FREE

Where/When: Downtown San Juan Capistrano (near Del Obispo Street). Saturday, March 26, 11 a.m.

Why Go: The annual Swallows Day parade is a highly anticipated event; it is the nation’s largest non-motorized parade and marks the return of the swallows in this area. Children and adults can enjoy shopping, drinking and eating at the nearby Mercado, or outdoor market , while listening to traditional country music from the Working Cowboy Band.

Pricing: Parade is free. Food and drink available at the Mercado for a fee.

LEGO RACERS KIDS EVENT

Where/When: , 22372 El Paseo, Rancho Santa Margarita. Saturday, March 26, 2:00 p.m.

Why Go: This is the ultimate experience for any Lego lover. Kids can build and play with Lego race cars during this special event. Call the store for details; space is limited.

Pricing: FREE

ORANGE COUNTY ZOO

Where/When: Located inside the Irvine Railroad Park, 1 Irvine Park Road, Orange. Open daily from 10-3:30 p.m.

Why Go: No need to travel up to L.A. or down to San Diego to see lions and bears. Orange County Zoo is one of the county’s best kept secrets and just right for young children. This 8-acre zoo boats mountain lions, black bears, farm animals, birds and beautiful foliage.

Pricing: $2 per person, children 2 and under are FREE. Park entrance is $3 per car on weekdays and $5 per car on weekends.
