Grab 'n Go Kids Planner: Pumpkins, Parties and Pancakes!

Looking for fun ways to celebrate Halloween with your family? From free fall festivals to pumpkin carving to pancakes, we've got your weekend covered.

HALLOWEEN FALL FEST

Where/When: Verizon Amphitheater, Irvine Center Drive, Irvine. Monday, October 31, 5-9 p.m.

Why Go: This annual event, sponsored by Compass Bible Church, is a don't-miss celebration for the whole family. Get your costumes on and come down for FREE In ’N Out burgers, hot dogs, snacks, rides, games and a literal TON of candy.

HARVEST FESTIVAL

Where/When: Reverence Bible Church, 22081 Hidalgo, Mission Viejo. Sunday, October 30, 2-6 p.m.

Why Go: This free event for all ages includes a petting zoo, pony rides, bounce houses, face painting, candy, chili cook off, corn on the cob, root beer floats, hot dogs, tri-tip sandwiches and more!

Pricing: All activities (including food) are FREE.

BLOCKTOBER

Where/When: Saddleback Church, 1 Saddleback Parkway, Lake Forest. Monday, October 31, 5-9 p.m.

Why Go: The entire campus will become a giant “block” party at this special Halloween event. Includes games, rides, food, candy and much more. Adults not participating in games need not buy ticket but are encouraged to bring a canned food item for the food pantry.

Pricing: $5 per person; 2 and under free.

TRICK OR TREAT PUMPKIN PARTY

Where/When: Kaleidoscope Center, 27741 Crown Valley Parkway, Mission Viejo. Saturday, October 29, 2-6 p.m.

Why Go: Get into costume and bring your pumpkin down for a festive time of trick or treating and more. A professional artist will be on site to teach special carving tricks, as well as a surprise entertainer (bring your cameras for a special photo op!).

Pricing: $5 per person.

PUMPKINS AND PANCAKES

Where/When: South Coast Plaza (enter by Macys and Crate & Barrel). Sunday, October 30, 8-11 a.m.

Why Go: Get into the Halloween spirit while supporting a good cause! This special event includes a gourmet pancake breakfast from Plums Café, petting zoo, music, face painting, balloons, arts and crafts, professional photos, hair feather artists, surprise characters, silent auction and more. Proceeds to go to Orangewood Children’s Foundation and CHOC.

Pricing: $35 per person at the door; $30 if tickets ordered online. Age 2 and under are FREE.
