Update: High Speed Internet Slowed by Cox Server Issues

Internal server issues have slowed down the high speed internet service provided by Cox Communications. The company is hopeful the issue will be resolved by Monday night.

Update: Service was restored at 11 p.m. on Monday.

Is your high speed internet lagging? If you're a customer of Cox Communications, the answer most certainly is yes.

That's because the primary internet service provider for South Orange County has experienced internal server errors that are causing the West Coast to have a slow internet speet. That includes all of California and most of Las Vegas, according to a service technician.

Although phone calls noting declining speeds started filtering in two days ago, an outage was declared Monday about 4 p.m., according to the technician. He said that word circulating at Cox at 7 p.m. was that the issue would hopefully be resolved by about 8:30 p.m.

You can test your internet speed at speedtest.net.

My speeds have been reading about 1-2 million bits per second all Monday afternoon. They're usually as high as 11-15, on good days up to 20.

Folks, the number for Cox customer service is: 949-546-5955. Sometimes they offer rebates when their services aren't working properly.
