McGirr Dishes On Air About Rancho Santa Margarita

Councilman chats up three aspects of life in RSM on local television.

By Martin Henderson

Brad McGirr, city councilman for Rancho Santa Margarita, is often seen at local events, but he took to the airwaves last week to spread the message of RSM.

McGirr was on the local Cox O.C. Connection, which airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, with new interviews every other Wednesday. The specific segment is called Cox Civic Connection. It airs on Cox Channel 3.

Interviewed by Lacy Kelly, McGirr addressed the business environment in Rancho Santa Margarita, Chiquita Ridge, and the city's record of public safety.

McGirr, who has also been a planning commissioner for the city, says it is always trying to bring in "good corporate citizens" who share Richard Reese's vision for "this urban island, this village." He discusses the city's stance on business licenses, and explains the Chiquita Ridge project, which will include a 23-acre sports park.

The video is 7 minutes 5 seconds.
