Moms Talk: Kiddie Lingerie, Cutesie or Horrific?

Crotchless panties for young girls deserves more than your two cents. Sound off here.

This morning, the Huffington Post reported something so disturbing that even the most liberal of mothers will bristle. A mother walked into a store in Greely, CO called Kids N Teen and found a rack of miniature crotchless panties hanging between the racks of frilly princess dreses.

That's right—crotchless panties for little girls. Horrified, the mother snuck a cell phone video of the panties. They were later removed from the store.

Shockingly, this isn't a first. A French line of clothing debuted risque bras and panties for girls age 4 through 12, as well as "loungerie" for baby girls 3 months to 36 months. You read correctly. This means, yes, technically, a little girl could be wearing a negligee over a diaper. Cutesie? Definitely not.

We've already got enough trouble with teens strutting around in teeny tiny booty shorts, and this certainly takes things to a new, disturbing level. I felt enough pressure at 13 to wear a bra; a toddler or preschooler certainly shouldn't even know what such a thing is. What happened to good ol' Dora the Explorer Underoos? I, for one, am horrifed, but I want to hear from you. Are you disturbed, too? Would you speak up if you saw such a thing in a store?
