Moms Talk: Mama Drama
Check out what other moms in your neck of the woods are chatting about this week and then put in your two cents.
QUESTION: I want to get involved at my kids' school, but I've heard the "mama drama" is just as rampant as it was in high school. I don't really feel like reliving those days; should I just steer clear of the campus completely?
ANSWER: Ah, yes. It's high school all over again, minus the bad hair, the braces and the stonewashed jeans. It seems no matter where you live, there's bound to be an element of "mama drama" at kids' schools. But if you hide out in the drop-off lane all year, you might miss out on some great friendships, relationships with the teachers and even a chance to interact with your kids in their classes. If you're leery, start small by donating to a bake sale or helping out in computer lab. The more responsibility you carry and the more folks you get involved with, the better chance for drama. But should you come across it, just raise your head high and remember all you've accomplished since those bad hair, stonewashed jeans days. And don't let 'em get to you.
