Moms Talk: What Do Moms Really Want?
Check out what moms in your neck of the woods are chatting about this week and put in your two cents!
Q: Mother's Day is coming up, and I'm not especially excited. Last year, my husband gave me a new iron (I already have two) and took me to a crowded family restaurant with a bunch of screaming kids running around. Is it selfish of me to speak up and tell him what I really want ... a day to myself?
A: Nope. Moms only get one day a year, and this is yours. Feel free to speak up; want a spa treatment or chocolate? Just say so. Men want to be told. They don't know what to get. And they need to be reminded, lest they end up in a panic in line for flowers at the grocery store behind other panicked men. Encourage him to get the kids involved too. And if you end up with a glued macaroni necklace and lopsided picture frame, wear it and display it with pride.
