RSM gets wet, Stacey Doss gears up for another court battle, and Santa Margarita tries to win a state title in girls' soccer. Also, Richard Nixon played piano for Pearl Bailey (and he's not bad).

1. We're not exactly sure whether to call the column "Did You See this?" or "In Case You Missed it" or "Rewind," but the bottom line is that it's a story that deerves a look even though it was released in the early days of Patch when we didn't have as many readers. First up is RSM resident Stacey Doss, who is i; it's a fight that's likely headed to the supreme court.

4. On this date in history, May 7, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell patented the electrical speech machine, also known as the telephone; his patent beat another by two hours. In 1974, President and amateur pianist Richard Nixon and Pearl Bailey performed together at a White House dinner that the Washington Post—which was leading the way in Watergate coverage—said "momentarily upstaged Watergate, the energy crisis, troubles in the middle east and the energy crisis." In 1987, Mike Tyson, 20, defeated James "Bonecrusher' Smith and unified the two different heavyweight boxing championships to become the youngest undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. In 1999, Stanley Kubrick died.

5. Willard Scott (77) takes another step toward 100 today. Others celebrating birthdays are tennis legend Ivan Lendl (51), Daniel J. Travanti (71), Rachel Weisz (40) and Jenna Fisher (37).
