Rancho Santa Margarita Mom Wins $500 in Free Tolls

Patti Butler is a November winner of the Toll Roads' monthly contest.

A Rancho Santa Margarita woman who used to traverse winding canyon roads to get to work is one of two winners of $500 from The Toll Roads for November.

Patti Hoberg Butler of Rancho Santa Margarita, along with Jim Borland of Torrance, recently received $500 in credit on their FasTrak account.

A busy wife and mother, Butler's primary use of the toll road is to run errands, visit friends and relatives, ferry her kids and get to work. Her winning transaction came on Nov. 15 while traveling northbound through the Tomato Springs Mainline toll plaza on the 241.

I love that the Toll Roads totally save time and gas, too," said Butler, who has been a FasTrak account holder since 2002. "I've lived in RSM since 1989 and I used to drive to Orange for work, all the way through the canyon and across Chapman. It took forever, and then the Toll Roads were born! Yay!"

Borland is a business manager who drives from Torrance to his office on Camp Pendleton and uses the 73 Toll Road. His winning transaction took place while heading northbound through the Catalina View mainline plaza on Nov. 15.

Two FasTrak winners are selected each month to receive $500 from the Toll Roads. The promotion continues through September.

TCA FasTrak account holders need to login to their account online or go to thetollroads.com/500 to begin the registration process. Once registered, they will be automatically entered to win every time they drive the 73, 133, 241 or 261 Toll Roads; the more they drive, the more times their account number is entered into that month’s drawing.
