RSM Rings in the New Year [Video/Photos]

Celebrating Family and Friends gets an assist from the weather as the annual event is 'the best one yet.'

By Martin Henderson

Rancho Santa Margarita's annual Celebrating Family and Friends New Year's Eve event took place Tuesday at Central Park.

Unlike recent years, the weather cooperated—cool but not very cold temperatures—brought out residents looking for a non-alcoholic and early evening with the kids.

Among those in attendance was city councilman Brad McGirr, who called it "The best one yet."

Included in the entertainment was mentalist Mark Gibson, a 19-year-old who attended Tesoro High but who proved so popular a second show was added. In addition to BMX daredevils, there were games, bounce houses, food trucks and live entertainment, including a band and cultural dancers.

Check out the video for nearly 100 photos from the event, including some in the middle of the video of the Children's Art Contest entries—which will remain on display at the Bell Tower Regional Community Center.
