Remembering 9/11: Patriot Day Sights and Sounds

Rancho Santa Margarita and its adopted regiment, the 2nd Battalion 5th Marines, paid homage to those who died in 9/11 and those who serve America.

Despite an early morning storm that made a bit wet, the second Patriot Day celebration in Rancho Santa Margarita came with military hardware, reverence for those who have served America, and lots of kids.

The attached video provides a look at the sights and sounds of Patriot Day on Sept. 10, including parts of speeches from Mayor Tony Beall, Bob Stanton, and Lt. Col. Jason Perry, the commanding officer of the 2nd Battalion 5th Marines regiment stationed at Camp Pendleton. Also included are parts of performances by Jennylyn Billings, who sant the National Anthem, and bagpiper Jim Clements.
