Work Done on SM Parkway, Here's An Alternate Route

Southern California Edison is doing emergency repair work. Here's a way to get around it.

Southern California Edison is doing emergency repair work on Santa Margarita Parkway between Empresa and the 241 toll road.

To circumvent the bottleneck during the afternoon traffic rush, consider alternate routes, which include taking Empresa to Antonio Parkway or Empresa to Banderas to Las Flores to Santa Margarita Parkway.

A map of the alternate routes is posted.

Here's what the City posted on its website:

A contractor installing a utility service line hit an underground SCE duct bank on Wednesday night that resulted in a brief power outage. In an effort to restore the facility, SCE crews had to close an eastbound traffic lane on Santa Margarita Parkway at the SR 241 Toll Road On/Off ramp to make emergency repairs to the affected circuit. Unfortunately, this is causing traffic delays to the commuters traveling in this area Wednesday through Friday evenings. City staff has requested SCE to place alternate route signage.
