Fun With Chalk: Art Attack

The finished pieces were extraordinary. There were winners and ... well, there were only winners for those who viewed the pieces.

The 13th annual Fun with Chalk Festival made its first appearance in Rancho Santa Margarita and the end result was breathtaking to those who viewed the pieces.

Fun With Chalk, under the direction of Frank Lieberman and Norm Rosenkrantz in RSM, raises money for art programs in the Capistrano Valley and Saddleback Valley school districts.

The event coincided with Relay for Life, which took place at Central Park, and the first of the summer concert series. Those who didn't check out the finished work missed out because the lot was cleaned by the following morning.

The event also included a workshop that enabled youngsters to create small squares of their own artwork.

There were more than 50 renderings on the parking lot of the Bell Tower Regional Community Center, from original pieces to copies of the masters.
