Video: Concerts Get Off to A Flying Start

With the Eagles' playlist providing the soundtrack, a record number of fans attended the year's first concert in the summer series.

The summer concert series that continues this week in Central Park will be hard pressed to top the season opener last weekend.

An Eagles tribute band, The Long Run Experience, played before about 3,000 appreciative fans who, frankly, knew all the words to all the songs.

Those fans also comprised what is believed to be the largest crowd ever for a summer concert, based on the opinion of residents who have watched the summer program grow.

  • The band opened with "The Long Run," ended with "Heartache Tonight," and jammed 17 songs in between, ending in a bit over two hours.

Rock 'n Roll will be the theme this week, too, with The Answer performing at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

To check out The Long Run Experience, as well as the audience—there's lots of photos—watch the video. See who you know, and be sure to stick around to the very end.
