Business Notebook: Dove Canyon Courtyard and Lotus 7 Celebrate; ULTA, Sears Appliance Showroom Open

It has been only a few months since the Rancho Santa Margarita City Council gave the OK for the Dove Canyon Courtyard to continue operating as usual, to the chagrin of opponents.

But the Dove Canyon Courtyard, on a once-blighted site, is celebrating its fifth year in the city Saturday with an open house from 6-8 p.m. The battle between the business with its residential neighbors—it has them in support and opposition—made it . Check out for yourself the business, which typically hosts weddings, receptions and special events.

And if getting an inside look at Dove Canyon Courtyard isn't appealing enough, owner Kenny Hrabik is offering up free In-N-Out burgers.

LOTUS 7 YOGA

Lotus 7 Yoga, Pilates and Integrative Wellness Center—Lotus 7 for short—in Rancho Santa Margarita is also celebrating its fifth anniversary July 9 with an open house from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Visitors can look the place over and enjoy organic teas, healthy snacks and try their luck in the "many raffles our vendors will be offering." 

Afterward, there will be a five-hour workshop offered by Lama Norbu and Jin Lian Hau called "Inner-Peace Rising One-Day Intensive" that will explore the Shiva Garuda practice. A news release invites visitors to  "experience the healing vibration energy of sound and sacred mantras. Its goal is to further open one's heart to infinite love, compassion and wisdom."

The workshop, from 1-6 p.m., is $90 in advance, $108 at the door.

SEARS APPLIANCE SHOWROOM

Sears Appliance Showroom has located next to place you might be visiting if you're remodeling: Lowe's. The ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place Friday at 9:30 a.m. and should last about an hour. Early word is that the mayor and other dignitaries will be on hand.The grand opening is slated for Saturday.

ULTA

ULTA recently opened up in Rancho Santa Margarita Town Center. It's a welcome sight, especially for those who had to drive to stores in the District in Tustin or Westcliff Plaza in Newport Beach.

The 11,000-square-foot store has 22,000 products, a salon, facialist, brow bar and fragrance and men's sections.

Hours are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The phone number is 949-635-9301.

SPA GREGORIE'S

Celebrity spray tanner Julie Nostrand will make a guest appearance at a onetime tanning event at , offering her deft hand and paraben-free South Seas Spray. It's the spray that will now be offered by the spa, which is celebrating with this RSVP event—limited to 20 people—from 2-7 p.m. on July 13. The cost is $25. Secure your spot at 949-858-9455.
