Vons Program Offers Gasoline Discounts

Club card points can save up to 20 cents per gallon at Chevron and Texaco. It's similar to Ralphs' partnership with Shell.

Vons and Pavilions grocery stores have unveiled a new program that lets club card members earn discounts on gasoline purchases.

Under the program, which is similar to a partnership between Ralphs and Shell, grocery purchases earn points that can be redeemed for up to 20 cents per gallon at participating Chevron and Texaco stations in Southern and Central California.

For every 100 points earned at Vons or Pavilions, customers will receive a 10-cents-per-gallon discount on a single fill-up. For 200 points, the discount rises to 20 cents per gallon on a single fill-up.

Points can be earned as follows:

  • Customers receive one point for every $1 spent on eligible grocery purchases at Vons or Pavilions, and two points per dollar spent on qualifying gift cards.
  • For purchases made at the pharmacy, customers receive one point for every $1 of out-of-pocket cost, including co-pays.

Customers can redeem their rewards by swiping their VonsClub Card or Pavilions ValuePlus Card or entering their phone number at the pump before fueling up.

Vons and Pavilions are owned by Safeway.
