High Winds in Forecast

Santa Ana winds of 35 to 50 mph could blow through Orange County on Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a warning for gusty Santa Ana winds through Thursday evening in the mountains and along the coastal slopes and foothills of Orange County.

The northeast-to-east winds will continue mainly through and below mountain passes and canyons and near coast foothills into the evening hours.

Although gusts above 35 mph are not expected at most locations through the night, winds of 35-50 mph are possible after 9 a.m. Friday.

Another wind advisory may be issued later Thursday or early Friday for the next round of gusty winds.
