Power Outage: Black Friday Blackout

Equipment failure turns out hte lights on Black Friday shoppers—and others—in south Orange County.

Black Friday really turned black late Friday afternoon when an equipment failure caused a widespread power outage in south Orange County.

According to Southern California Edison, the blackout occurred about 4 p.m., after an equipment failure in Irvine.

Power was restored in some areas at about 5:10 p.m.
