Rain Storm May Take Aim at Turkey Day

National Weather Service indicates there is a 40 percent chance of rain on Thanksgiving.

A low pressure system may take aim at Orange County on Thanksgiving.

On the heels of a cold storm that brought more than a half inch of rain to Rancho Santa Margarita, National Weather Service forecasters predict a chilly, and possibly wet Thanksgiving.

"Southern California may once again see more wet weather for the holiday, or the brunt of [the storm] may go to our south," Weather Service meteorologists said. "For now, the threat of unsettled and cooler weather remains."

Until then, however, expect dry and cool weather with highs in the mid 60s and lows in the mid to upper 40s, the Weather Service said.

Wednesday is forecast to be the warmest day of the week with a daytime temperature of 66 degrees.

There's a 40 percent chance of rain Thursday, then a high pressure system will bring fair and warmer weather, and possibly light wind, to Orange County on Friday through the weekend, Weather Service meteorologists said.

The most recent strom dropped 0.57 inches of rain on the Rancho Santa Margarita area.
