Stardust tells the sweet comedic story of Prudence Mason, the famous actress who has volunteered to perform in the local acting college’s production of Anthony & Cleopatra led by a crazy acting teacher and his band of misfits. She teaches them all that art is not created from madness but hard work and that at the end of the day you can have your art and still be Prudence.

Director, Cheryl Des Palmes, NBCT, is particularly proud of this year’s cast, crew and designers. “I’m always impressed by my students no-fear attitude toward comedy and farce. They really have created a wide variety of hysterical characters with their own lives and backgrounds. They crack me up every day in rehearsal, and I can’t wait for them to be able to share their talents with a full house.”

The show takes on additional challenges this year with an all-student design team. While the department often hires professionals to do some design for the shows, this year’s designers are all students. The Stardust design team consists of fifteen students and is led by student stage managers: Arina Wu, Marcus Matthews, and Khadra Zerouali. There are 30 production assistants working on the show as well, and all of the sets, costumes, props and lighting will be designed, built, and created by the students.
