Tesoro Jazz Ensemble Presents a Dinner & Concert May 31st

The award winning Tesoro Jazz Ensemble will be joined by Guest Artists the Ron Stout Quartet for an evening of great food and music. 

The Tesoro High School Instrumental Music Department and the Tesoro Music Boosters will present the first annual Jazz Dinner and Concert on Saturday, May 31st. The catered dinner will begin at 5:30 PM and the concert will start at 7:00 PM and will be held in the Tesoro Theater. The twenty-one piece Tesoro Jazz Ensemble has been recognized as one of the top high school ensembles in the area with numerous awards earned at local and regional jazz festivals over the past several years. The band will play an assortment of swing, funk, pop and ballad style selections that span the past eight decades of jazz and popular music.

The concert will also feature guest artists the Ron Stout Quartet. Ron Stout has been involved with teaching Jazz Theory/Improvisation and trumpet since 1978, both as a private instructor and in the role of clinician, drawing on his years of experience conducting seminars while traveling and playing with the Woody Herman Orchestra (1984-90) Since 1991 Ron has taught part-time, recorded and performed in and around Los Angeles, traveling occasionally to Europe upon invitation. Ron spent three seasons traveling and recording with Horace Silver in groups ranging from the classic quintet setting to the ten-piece brass ensemble. His other small group jazz work has been with: Saxophonist Karl Denson, Pepper Adams, and Supersax; Pianist Les Czimber also with Poncho Sanchez, Matt Zebley, and David Berger. He can be heard locally and traveling with big bands such as Bill Holman, Buddy Childers, Jack Sheldon, and The Bob Florence Limited Edition.



Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Tesoro Instrumental Music Department.  Tickets are $15 for dinner and the concert or $10 for the concert only.
