Mission Viejo Football Honors Veterans [Video]

Diablos give military veterans the shirts off their backs in a special ceremony that honored veterans after the Tesoro game.

On the night that Mission Viejo practically clinched the South Coast League title with a dominant performance against Tesoro, the postgame ceremony might have been just as brilliant.

Varsity players, wearing special red camouflage jerseys, gave the shirts off their backs to military veterans who were in attendance as part of "Mission for the Armed Forces."

For every player, there was a veteran who was recognized, and who received the game-worn jersey with his name imprinted on the back—not the name of the player.

Watch the video to see photos from the field of the intimate moments between players and heroes, as well as video; you'll be hard-pressed not to remember to be thankful for the sacrifice of veterans from all over.
