Merry Christmas

Christmas is a time of joy and thanksgiving. There are two great miracles worth remembering this time each year.

I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas.  There is so much for which we can be thankful.  The Spectator has reported 2012 was the best year ever.  They report, “Never in the history of the world has there been, less hunger, less disease and more prosperity.”    I do understand the difference between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I have always considered this a time of year to give thanks.  The Spectator article reinforces my view.

First, I’m thankful for the birth of Jesus Christ. The miracle of the birth, life, death and rising of Jesus changed the path of mankind.  In a world so violent, modern day man cannot imagine the suffering; Christianity started the world on a path that leads us to the relatively peaceful world we now enjoy.  The journey was neither easy nor perfect, but the results are a blessing.

In a world that was once ruled by Kings and Warlords, we have come to understand, it is neither man, nor King that gives people their rights.  Our rights, as humans, are God given and no person or government has a right to infringe on these rights.

Many people do not have the faith to believe in a greater power and that is fine. Whatever your beliefs, we can learn from the knowledge gained through the life and death of Jesus, and know there is a greater power than any human ruler or any government.  For this I am thankful and it makes Christmas all the more special.

The second thing, is the miracle of the Constitution. Yes, I know the difference between the 4th of July and Christmas.  But the Constitution is the second miracle that makes our lives so much better than any time in history.

The founding fathers of this country had a strong belief in God.  I’ve heard the discussions about how there were Deists and Agnostics, but the proof is in the final product.  This “Republic……..one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all” has risen to power following the belief of a higher power protecting and leading us.  This led the U.S. to becoming the protector of human rights around the globe.  It is sad to think about the world without the power and benevolence of the United States.

This great country has set itself apart by providing freedom of religion to each group of immigrants throughout our history.  It was not the freedom from religion that attracted so many people to flee their countries and come here; it was the freedom of religion.

So this is a special time of year for my family and me.  It will be one of the few times this year we can all be in the same location at the same time.  Looking at
this group of young adults and their zest for life will provide more memories
of a family allowed to grow, prosper and love in the greatest country on earth.

Merry Christmas and May God protect you and your families in this special time of

"Yes, because it is customary to refer to Yahweh as "Nature's God" or "creator", and leave out all references" HAH! Fail. Your responses are getting to the point of not even deserving a reply. Now he's making up the intent which defined our 'creator'. OMG. You should take some of this stuff and put it into your resume then apply for a position on Obama's financial team. With such supporting documentation I think you could practically name your price. heh. Go for it! You could be supervising Jon Corzine someday with your ability to spin. heh.
Dan Avery December 26, 2012 at 07:08 AM
Okay I hate to do this, but...if you really want to know what a word meant when it was written and not what a word means today...you don't use the Merriam Webster Dictionary for God's Sake. You use the Oxford English Dictionary. Yes, I know it's 22 Volumes...so what? You will find out exactly what ordained meant in 1776 and it isn't what tiny thinks it means.
Shripathi Kamath December 26, 2012 at 07:10 AM
"Your responses are getting to the point of not even deserving a reply." Well, not like the ones you are providing, no. But hey, you are doing your best, and somewhere, that is worth something. Same place where a discussion of the Constitution leads to Yahweh which then leads to Obama and Corzine (what, no Benghazi or Solyndra?) while offering the power of "spin", "fail", "heh", "HAH!" as the reason for not finding Jesus or Yahweh in the Constitution. Clearest sign that 11-6 victims are still hurting.

"All I have to do is cite one instance where your claim is wrong" So you listed 5 'instances' and only respond back with an alleged proof source that you claim shows that NDAA did not start with Obama. The fact is that the provision added that I referred to that strips American citizens suspected of 'certain' crimes of due process rights was enacted ONLY with Obama's signature. That provision was in incorporated in NDAA under the Bush administration. So even the 'instance' that you claimed you could defend fell flat on it's face, Kampathy. And naturally you can't defend the other 4 'instances' because there are no proof sources to substantiate them, other than maybe something you would find at the "Kos" or some other far left website. It's been a blast, Kampathy. But I am done with you for the evening. I know your head must be about ready to explode as we wind down this Christmas day. Have an eggnog or 2. Sometimes that helps if you have some left over. Again, Merry Christmas. God loves you. And by 'God' I don't mean a woman's womb. I mean the real man upstairs! hah. :)

in the 1970's the minimum wage kept a family four living above the poverty line JustUs. Today, not even close for one person. In the 1970's there wasn't the high unemployment we have today. And before you start citing figures let's remember that the unemployment figures only count people on unemployment not those unemployed. We are living in the worst economic times since the great depression which is when Henry Wallace suggested we start using food stamps. So of course there are a lot of people on food stamps. What sort of moronic statement will you inflict on us next?
Dan Avery December 26, 2012 at 07:14 AM
Ya know, I KNEW I shouldn't have asked what sort of moronic statement you would inflict on us next...
JustUs December 26, 2012 at 07:20 AM
Dan, you shouldn't talk about Kampathy that way. It's unchristian like. :) Isn't there an Obama rally somewhere that you 2 could attend tomorrow and work out your differences? In fact, take Tiny with ya and make it a 3-some. heh. :)
Shripathi Kamath December 26, 2012 at 07:22 AM
'"All I have to do is cite one instance where your claim is wrong" So you listed 5 'instances' and only respond back with an alleged proof source that you claim shows that NDAA did not start with Obama. " Yes. All I need is one, because logic works that way. When you say "completely wrong" to five things I said, all I need to show is that at least one is right. I could cite evidence for the rest, but you are too intellectually dishonest for me to spend more effort at this time. Merry Christmas, and again, my condolences for 11-6.

Mr. Webb, "“Republic ... one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all” It's nice to think of the founders saying that but they didn't. That sort of speech surfaced after Truman cast out any sort of Moral High Ground we could ever take by dropping two atomic bombs on a defeated nation. Those bombs did not win us the war. The were dropped on Japan for one reason only. To show Russia we would use them. Japan wanted to surrender in May. The bombs were dropped in the first part of August and then we let Japan surrender for the same terms they wanted to in May. I have no idea what you were taught about Jesus in Sunday School. What I was taught about Jesus in Sunday School is that Jesus would have commended our actions. The Japanese who were largely Buddhists of one sort or another didn't flinch at those bombs. They figured twenty planes and 200 bombs or one plane and one bomb, it really didn't matter because the United States was just attacking civilians and not military targets. They had a point. Stalin wasn't frightened either. The only people who were impressed where the war mongers in our own government, Truman among them. So they, the morons in our government, started to inject God into everything in the same way Hitler had injected loyalty into Germany and then they started looking for communists everywhere. This is what you're proud of? Why?
JustUs December 26, 2012 at 07:23 AM
"Well, not like the ones you are providing, no." That I'm providing? hah. :) You're the one who gave us 5 'instances' of which you could only defend one and even that one failed to hold water! hah. You poor man. Were you home educated by chance in a single parent household? Just curious?
Shripathi Kamath December 26, 2012 at 07:24 AM
Psst, he is talking about you. He did respond to you, not me.
Dan Avery December 26, 2012 at 07:29 AM
JustUs, You clearly missed my piece entitled "Why The Left Shouldn't Vote for Obama." Until you get caught up and start factoring in reality...well, the polite term is that I've put you on "ignore."
JustUs December 26, 2012 at 07:30 AM
Absolutely nothing you said refutes anything I stated in my comment. My point is that America is a sinking ship. You basically confirmed that. Thank you for your support. Merry Christmas. God loves you.
JustUs December 26, 2012 at 07:37 AM
"Yes. All I need is one, because logic works that way. When you say "completely wrong" to five things I said, all I need to show is that at least one is right" That's about as absurd as saying if you wrote 5 rubber checks that you only have to justify 1 to the bank to have the other 4 approved. heh. In your case you couldn't even justify the 1. heh. Not with any credibility at least. All of us know that the revocation of due process from US citizens suspected of 'certain' crimes was not in NDAA under the Bush administration. It was only added after Obama took office and Obama signed it - which executed the new provision. How many different ways must I tell you this before it sticks between your 2 ears? heh. Keep up. This is fun.
JustUs December 26, 2012 at 07:40 AM
He had to be talking about you, Kampathy. Didn't you read your own comment? It's obvious who who he meant. Read your "moronic statement" if you are confused.
Dan Avery December 26, 2012 at 07:42 AM
Actually, except for the willfully stupid, everything I said refutes what you said and implied.
Dan Avery December 26, 2012 at 07:44 AM
Shri, Can you believe this guy? We should sell him a bridge that goes to Brooklyn.
Dan Avery December 26, 2012 at 07:48 AM
Hey Shri, you have the thinking man's Michelle Bachmann on your hands here. I'd walk away if I were you. It's only going to get stranger and dumber.
JustUs December 26, 2012 at 07:58 AM
Let me guess, Dan. You're a democrat, right? I can tell by your thought process and your on-line kinship with Kampathy. Go to an Obama rally together. Praise Obama for NDAA, the indefinite extension of the Patriot Act, for the ObamaCare tax that wasn't a tax, for shelling Libya with a billion dollars of US missiles without first conferring with Congress, for promoting war under the guise of being a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, for smoking cigarettes off camera and then telling Americans that we must be more responsible for our physical health, for sending 2000 assault weapons south of the border into the hands of the drug cartels causing hundreds or thousands of murders - then promoting an assault weapons ban (heh.), for campaigning for transparency and then being the most untransparent POTUS in recent history, for feigning to be an enemy of the fat cats on Wall Street then taking record amounts of campaign funds from the Too Big To Fail banks and Wall Street hedge funds and refusing to prosecuted any of the big fish who destroyed our economy, and on and on and on and on....... Is that enough for you, Dan? Or would you like for me to continue? Yes we can........Hope and Change.........hah, hah, hah! :)
Shripathi Kamath December 26, 2012 at 07:58 AM
Oh I can, Dan. JustPus is habitually dishonest, occasionally a source of amusement, but almost always provides the contrast to rational thought one needs. Valuable asset, use him appropriately. But as with all 11-6 victims, be kind. He is stuck between denial and anger. You can sell him that Brooklyn bridge if he ever gets to bargaining.
JustUs December 26, 2012 at 08:00 AM
Didn't you already buy the B Bridge, Dan? With one of Obama's sub-prime specials ? :)
Dan Avery December 26, 2012 at 08:01 AM
JustUs, Read this to find out just how ignorant and what a bad judge of people you truly are: http://missionviejo.patch.com/blog_posts/why-the-left-shouldnt-support-obama
Shripathi Kamath December 26, 2012 at 08:03 AM
"I'd walk away if I were you. It's only going to get stranger and dumber." I am not sure about the 'stranger' part, Dan. I'd have stayed for stranger. There is always another day. It's not as if JustPus will run out of it soon. But Chinatown it'll have to be, for today.
JustUs December 26, 2012 at 08:09 AM
Even more reason why you should disagree with Obama water boys. Go with Kampathy to an Obama rally and try to reform him. But he might be one tough nut to crack. Explain to him that Obama has been in office now for 4 long years and it's finally time for him to take responsibility for the State of the Nation. Explain to him about the 'Big Boy Pants' theory and how that works. Since you are a reformed Obama advocate start a 12-step club for Obama lovers gone wild. Invite Kampathy, You seem to have good rapport with him. Nurture him. Show him pictures of John Boehner crying. You might convert him to the GOP. Who knows?
Dan Avery December 26, 2012 at 08:11 AM
Wow, JustUs, You really didn't understand my article at all...
JustUs December 26, 2012 at 08:11 AM
"JustPus is habitually dishonest..." Merry Christmas, Mr. Pot. Signed, Mr. Kettle
JustUs December 26, 2012 at 08:24 AM
Why should I take my time to read your article? Summarize it for me. But I just assumed that you are a reformed Obama lover. Clue me in.
tiny December 26, 2012 at 03:51 PM
Thanks Dan. .Since I don't have access to En. Brit from 1789, this will have to do. Here you you are Shrimp: www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/431536/ordination Obviously we were set up with seperation of church and state to prevent a tyrrany, including religious, from being established.
