Why Can't Our Nanny Create Jobs?

When I write an article calling President Obama the most economically destructive President in American history, you will react depending on your political leanings. Some will cheer, while others will charge me with right wing hate. Fair enough, the Progressives have their shinning knight, and quite honestly, it is very instructive with the public seeing the results of big government proponents setting the pace. Based on the results of the last five years, some observable outcomes of big government are; loss of rights, increased regulations, a sluggish economy, and a suffering middle class. This Administration has proven a vote for Democrats is a vote against individual rights and a vote for collectivism. A vote for a Democrat is a vote for slower individual economic growth and acceleration of “Nanny-ism” from the State.

In a time when Republicans should be highlighting their differences with the Progressives, we have John McCain, Lindsey Graham and others trying to pacify and form alliances with the people responsible for the failure to properly address problems facing the American Worker. I’ve written many times before regarding my concern the Republican Party is moving away from Conservatives and toward becoming a “me too” opposition party afraid to win and too comfortable with losing. These Republicans can’t seem to read the tea leaves. How many moderates have to lose Presidential Elections before they get the message? How many moderates have to vote for job killing programs like “cash for clunkers,” TARP and an increase in the deficit before Republicans stand up and tell their leadership they’ve had enough? You can get a clue by looking at the decline in the number of Republican Voters and the increase in the “Declined to State” folks.

Five years of a slow economy and low labor participation will be highlighted this week when economic growth will be reported at less than 2%. All the conversations about which political party should be in charge should be changed to…… who can get Americans back to work? I’m suggesting we switch from big government to smaller government; from more to less regulation; from many new taxes to fewer taxes with an emphasis on creating an environment where business grows and Middle America can see opportunity in their future.

There is growth in the energy sector where America will regain the position as world leader. There is a pent up demand for housing (home ownership is at the lowest level in 18 years); money will become available when we move away from Dodd-Frank and get banks back in the business of lending. The move to part time, low paying jobs can be reversed by moving away from the rules of the ACA, either by changing the law or dismantling it. (For goodness sake, even the Unions are waking up to the mistake that is ACA.) The manufacturing sector can have an amazing resurgence by rolling back the EPA rules to those in effect 1-1-2000. We can bring home trillions of dollars by changing the rules affecting money earned off shore by American Companies. Putting people to work is doable, it is only delayed by people pursuing a political agenda which ignores working America and the need for jobs, in favor of elites, who believe that they, using the power of government directives, have the answers.

In 2014 we will make the decision on who is responsible for your life, you or a large government controlled by people who believe they know best. I’m suggesting we are running out of time to get Big Government off our back. As we head into the mid-term elections next year, take the time to understand the issues and demand candidates outline comprehensive plans committing them to a path you feel will best serve your personal interest. You will be amazed at how many people have the same goals as you and your family.
