Anthem cancel RSM residents

More notices of medical plan cancellations were issued by Anthem - Blue Cross to RSM residents. They have been offered an alternative plan that becomes effective January 1st which meets all the Affordable Care Act requirements, but at a much higher monthly cost.  If you were not fortunate enough to have a grandfathered  plan issued in 2010, your plan does not meet the minimum standard requirements set by the ACA and can no longer be offered.
Through the Covered California Health Insurance Exchange you may be eligible to enroll at a discounted rate. The level of the discount is based on income and plan choice. There are two kinds of discounts available, with premium assistance and cost-sharing reductions. If your annual adjusted gross income is over the limit: single person - $45,960, 2 people - $52,040, 3 people - 78,120, 4 people - $94,200 you do not qualify for any discounts.
