Vote June 3rd, Greg Raths For U.S. Representative

Will we stop crying if we can share a laugh or two?

I don't have many regrets. Life has been good to me. I was born in the greatest land of freedom and liberty. I married the love of my life and was blessed with three wonderful children, and now grandchildren are beginning to arrive. I've flown the world's most advanced fighter jets launched from the decks of the world's most powerful ships, and landed them successfully more than four hundred times. Sure, there are some things I wished I had done, but being a standup comic wasn't one of them, until now. I doubt if I'll become another Andrew Klavan overnight.

As I've walked the precincts of California's 45th Congressional District and talked to my neighbors about the issues of the day, I've sometimes wished that I could replace their anger and their frustration with a smile if not a laugh. These really are the times that try men's souls, aren't they?

•A stagnant economy.

•Unemployment

•A loss of hope that had always before buoyed men's spirits.

Few see a light at the end of the tunnel. For the first time in history, our youth don't believe that their future will match let alone exceed their parent's past. I wish I could promise to change all that, but then you would know I was just acting like every other politician who ever lied to you. The truth is that only We the People can change all that, and we can't begin to change it until we reduce government and get it out of the way. Ronald Reagan said it best: “Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem.”

So, what can I do? What can I honestly promise?

1.      For starters, I will never vote to increase the role of government and government spending.

2.      I will argue and vote against any who try.

3.      I will bear truth faith and allegiance to the Constitution which proscribes limited government.

4.      I will represent you, the people, rather than any special interests. That is why I won't accept special interest campaign contributions.

If I can't be elected by dint of my own effort and the help of my volunteers, then I don't deserve to serve in Congress. Hopefully, you will not be dissuaded from voting for me by the money being spent by my Republican opponent who leads all other members of the California Senate in accepting gifts from special interests.
