WILL YOUR VOTE COUNT IN THE SAMLARC ELECTION?
The ballots for the 2014 SAMLARC Board of Directors are arriving in the mail this week. Did you know that even if you send you ballot in on time it may not be counted for the election? The SAMLARC election process is delegate system; there are 86 delegate districts in the SAMLARC Association. In developments with sub-associations, the president of the sub-association is the delegate to SAMLARC. In developments without a sub-association a delegate is either elected by the residents or appointed by SAMLARC, some developments do not have delegates, so the votes cast by residents in those developments will not count. If you are in a non-sub association development you can contact SAMLARC to find out if you have a delegate.
On the night of the Annual SAMLARC Meeting on February 27, 2014 at the Bell Tower, the delegates from all the various developments within the SAMLARC Association cast the ballots sent in by their respective residents for the election of the Board of Directors. Did you know that if a delegate does attend the meeting the votes of that development are not cast and do not count? That is why it is very important to find out who your delegate is and get a commitment that they will attend or assign someone to attend for them per the SAMLARC governing documents to assure your vote counts.
