Blotter: She Was Off Her Rocker and In Her Car

A motorist in Rancho Santa Margarita took note of another driver who was having an extremely bad day. 

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, a woman observed an elderly lady driving a Toyota Camry recklessly late Tuesday afternoon.

The witness said the wayward motorist nearly struck several pedestrians and vehicles.

The witness was a nurse, and asked the woman if she was OK.

The red-haired lady, believed to be in her 70s, appeared to be confused but started yelling at the informant. She proceeded to go into Pavilions to shop.

A deputy eventually talked to the woman and cleared her to go home.

The call was made Tuesday, 5:32 p.m., from Coto de Caza Drive and Antonio Parkway.

But it worked in 'Back to the Future'

The lure of a tailgate of rear bumper proved too much for a local man earlier this week, who apparently was inspired by Marty McFly in one of the Back to the Future movies.

According to an informant, a man on a skateboard was hitching rides by grabbing onto the back of moving vehicles Bell Tower Regional Community Center

The call was made Monday, 1:46 p.m., from La Miranda and El Paseo.

The following is a summary report of various calls from Rancho Santa Margarita to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from June 17-18.

Disturbance—family dispute, Tuesday, 9:04 p.m., on Pomelo. It's going to be a long summer in one household. Deputies were called after a man argued with his 16-year-old daughter, who had kicked a hole in the beroom wall. 

Suspicious persons/circumstances, Tuesday, 5:23 p.m., Santa Margarita Parkway and California 241. An informant reported a male juvenile on the pedestrian bridge behind In-N-Out Burger who was standing on the rail.

Welfare check, Monday, 10:51 p.m., 100 block of Flor del Sol. An informant reported a man laughing hysterically and screaming obscenities. The man has a history being in mental hospitals.

Fireworks violation, Monday, 9:31 p.m., on Cebolla and Eneldo. An informant reported that 14 teens were playing with fireworks.

Unknown trouble, Monday, 8:56 p.m., on Aliento. An informant reported hearing a woman screaming for help. She was engaged in a domestic argument.

Disturbance—family dispute, Monday, 4:58 p.m., from Dalia. A man reported having difficulty with his 13-year-old son, who had a history of dangerous behavior and being loud. The boy wouldn't take a timeout and was creating drama in the home.
