Crime: A Slash and Dash Doesn't Escape the Law

Also, waste matter is supposed to go inside the Porta-Potty, and a bridge is a bad place to park your bicycle.

Orange County Sheriff deputies took a 25-year-old deliveryman into custody Monday for allegedly slashing tires in his neighborhood.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Paul Michael Ohnemus was allegedly seen committing the act of vandalism by a neighbor before leaving for his apartment building.

The call was made at 5:30 p.m., from Amistosa.

The Porta-Potty was right there

An informant contacted police services to report three men were hanging around a Porta-Potty smoking and spitting. The witness also indicated that one of the men urinated behind the Porta-Potty instead of inside it which, of course, is what it was designed for.

The call was made at 8:55 a.m., from Las Castanetas.

Don't park your bike on a bridge

A concerned resident contacted OCSD because of a bicycle that was parked at the Santa Margarita Bridge. The resident thought it was suspicious because of the bridge's history of people jumping off it. The OCSD helicopter was unable to locate anything suspicious under the bridge.

The following is a summary report of calls from Rancho Santa Margarita to the Orange County Sheriff's Department on Feb. 18, 2013.

Suspicious persons in vehicle, Monday, 11:38 p.m. A caller reported a Saturn parked in front of Burgers and Bagels in which four or five people were fogging up the windows and had lighters flickering. The informant suspected the occupants were doing drugs.

Traffic accident, Monday, 2:55 p.m., from Santa Margarita Parkway and Alicia. At least three vehicles, and perhaps as many as five, were reported by witnesses as having been involved in an automobile accident in which one vehicle tipped on its side. One of the victims in the crash reported minor abrasions.

Vandalism report, Monday, 9:08 a.m., on Calle Arcos. An apparently ongoing issue continued. OCSD was at the location on Sunday when it was reported that unsupervised children were throwing a football against the informant's car and refused to stop. The informant indicated Monday morning that additional mischief took place after deputies left.

Assist outside agency, Monday, 5:11 a.m., on Brisa Ribera. An informant discovered a woman who was not breathing. Rescusitative efforts were unsuccessful.

Disturbance, Monday, 1:14 a.m., on Rabano. There was a report of kids playing Ding Dong Ditch.
