Crime: 'Bodyslam,' 'Banging' Comes From Apartment; Arrest Made

Also, there's a fight at the pool.

A domestic issue in Rancho Santa Margarita was so physical that a 29-year-old man was taken into custody early Saturday morning.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, an informant called 9-1-1 after hearing a woman's screams and a banging on the walls. The informant indicated this was not the first time this has happened, and the screams were loud enough the 9-1-1 oeprator was able to hear them in the background.

A second caller heard "yelling, screaming and bodyslamming" coming from the apartment for about an hour.

The original call was made at 4:50 a.m., from the 29700 block of Melinda Road.

Deputies arrived a short time later and took into custody Behnam Sabet, 29, who was released on bail early Sunday morning.

Dirty pool at the pool

A caller—one of at least two—told OCSD that a man in his late 20s was hitting a small boy, who was yelling, "Don't hit me any more."

The man the got into a fight with another man and they were pushing each other. According to a caller, a woman was at the scene and she was thrown to the ground while others attempted to intervene.

Two men got into a truck and drove away.

The call came Friday, 5:42 p.m., from Arroyo Vista and Banderas.

The following is a summary of selected calls from Rancho Santa Margarita to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department on March 15-16, 2013.

Suspicious person/circumstances, Saturday, 11:04 p.m., from Bayleaf. A caller reported a couple of drunk subjects from a party down the street who were in front of the residence were possibly getting ready to drive away.

Drunk driving, Saturday, 11:01 p.m., Santa Margarita Parkway and Alma Aldea. An informant reported a silver Ford Edge that was driving erratically and almost hit other cars.

Shots heard, Saturday, 10:34 p.m., 32100 block of Fall River Road. A caller, who sounded inebriated, reported hearing three shots in a row; that, or fireworks. The informant wanted no contact with deputies.

Citizen assist, Saturday, 7:01 p.m., from Regato. A man called to report a road rage incident that had occurred about 15 minutes earlier. The man was traveling southbound on Banderas and Empresa in his silver Jeep Liberty when a driver in a black Nissan Armada accelerated rapidly and tailgaited him for about 100 yards. Both vehicles turned into Arroyo Vista School and parked. The informant dialed 9-1-1 and told the man in the Armada the police were on the phone; the man returned to the Armada and sped away.

Disturbance—family dispute, Saturday, 6:03 p.m., 100 block of Lampara. A man called to say that his 14-year-old son was in a verbal altercation with him.

Illegal parked vehicle, Saturday, 12:47 p.m., Santa Margarita Parkway and Las Flores. A black Lexus SUV was parked between two handicap spaces in the walkway.

Disturbance, Saturday, 9:34 a.m., 20600 Shadow Rock Lane. An informant could hear a man and woman in an altercation with the female screaming, "Dont break my arm!"

Traffic accident—unknown injuries, Saturday, 5:12 a.m., Alicia Parkway and Santa Margarita Parkway. A man was taken into custody after a single car Suspicious person in vehicle, Friday, 4:52 p.m., from Mariposa. A caller reported a man in his 30s who has been in a number of traffic accidents, was sitting in his car drinking and that this was an ongoing problem; the mab hids his bottles in the bushes. The ma left the scene before deputies arrived.
