Killing is an inherent part of baseball. Kill the ball. Rally killer. Kill the ump.
But, kill the league president?
That's the threat that was allegedly made on Thursday, according to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
According to the report, the president of the Rancho Santa Margarita Little League contacted OCSD to inform it that he had just been in contact over the phone with a Little Leaguer's dad. The man was upset that his son didn't get into the division his dad wanted him in, and he wanted his fees returned. The two men argued, and in the course of the heated discussion the dad allegedly said he was going to the president's house to kill him.
Deputies contacted the dad, who denied making the threat, and verified that he was not en route to the president's house.
For his part, the president said he didn't fear for his life or safety, and that he understood the dad's comments were likely made out of anger.
No further action was taken. The initial call was made Thursday, 5:29 p.m., from Calle del Norte.
This bus stops for arguments
Deputies were called to the scene of an altercation on an Orange County Transit Authority bus. A female rider got into an argument with the bus driver, who subsequently was not able to operate the vehicle. The call was made Thursday, 6:53 p.m., from Santa Margarita Parkway and Tomas.
While at hospital, ailing woman's drugs and iPad were stolen
A woman suffering from advanced multiple sclerosis returned home from the hospital Friday to discover that someone had broken into her home and stolen all of her prescription drugs Oxycotin and Vicadin, and her iPad.
The call was made Friday, 10:16 a.m., from Amistosa.

Disturbance—family dispute, Friday, 3:42 a.m., from Piedmont. A woman reported her bipolar teenaged daughter had run out of the residence and onto a trail; despite the cold weather, the girl had left wearing only a shirt and pajama pants and no shoes. Mother and daughter eventually spoke by phone before deputies could find her and the girl returned home.
Assist outside agency, Friday, 4:02 a.m., from Somerset. OCSD was contacted by an informant who said her 50-year-old sister had taken an overdose of Xanax and Ambien. The sister was taken to Mission Hospital.
Disturbance—family dispute, Thursday, 8:20 p.m., 31800 block of Joshua Drive. An informant reported hearing screaming and fighting—and then silence—in a conjoining unit at the Trabuco Highlands Apartments. The subject indicated was indeed a fight—over the phone.
Welfare check, Thursday, 6:52 p.m., 100 block of Lampara. An informant showed up at the location to serve papers to a tenant who was uncooperative over the phone. The informant was told by the tenant that a babysitter was present at the location with several small children; however, the babysitter wasn't answering the door. The informant then got into an argument with neighbors who didn't know who he was and they would not provide him information. Ultimately, the children were OK.
Suspicious persons in vehicle, Thursday, 3:13 p.m., from Camellia. A resident returned home to find someone drinking water from the hose in her yard. The resident was upset even though the three water bandits indicated they were from Cox Communications. The three men then climbed into a Cox truck and left.
Suspicious person/circumstances, Thursday, 12:24 p.m., from Santa Margarita Parkway and Antonio. An informant reported a gypsy wearing a blue robe and carrying a baby was soliciting in the Ralphs parking lot.
