Crime: Woman Allegedly Threatens to Blow Off Husband's Head

Also, a bank has a security problem, a woman causes a scene, and it doesn't pay to get out of bed. These and other calls to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

A Rancho Santa Margarita woman was placed under arrest over the weekend following a nasty argument with her husband.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the man called 9-1-1 to report that he and his wife had argued, and that she threatened to blow his head off.

The woman does own a .38 caliber handgun, though she did not brandish the weapon and showed deputies where it was when they arrived.

The informant stated he was on anti-depressants and had thrown some shoes at his wife. The woman was crying and lamenting that her husband doesn't care about her.

Although taken into custody for making criminal threats, she was released two days later because the district attorney refused to prosecute.

The call came Sunday, 12:55 a.m., from Via Tronido.

Hopefully, the vault was locked

If robbers were looking for a easy mark over the weekend, they may have missed their opportunity.

The doors to Wells Fargo were open open on Sunday afternoon; there were no employees or cleaning crew on the scene.

According to the alarm company, the doors are supposed to lock automatically when the doors are closed.

Deputies, who spotted the open doors and investigated, eventually got the doors to lock after being shut.

The doors were noticed Sunday, 1:15 p.m., on the 30600 block of Santa Margarita Parkway.

And it wasn't even Black Friday

Deputies were called to the scene of an unhappy customer who was throwing items, yelling at clerks and refusing to leave a local store. According to informants, the woman in her 50s paid for four items before starting her tirade and departing.

The call was made Saturday, 9:01 p.m., from the 22200 block of El Paseo.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to get out of bed

Saturday, 2:27 a.m., on Via Caballo.

An informant reported to the sheriff that she was awakened by subjects outside the residence who were talking loud. 

After he husband yelled at the noisemakers, she said, they threw a rock at her house.

The call came Saturday, 2:27 a.m., from Via Caballo.

The following is a summary of selected calls from Rancho Santa Margarita, to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department on May 4-5, 2013.

Suspicious persons/circumstances, Sunday, 7:40 p.m., 21800 block of Fundadores. A caller reported subjects may be on the roof of Cielo Vista Elementary.

Disturbance, Sunday, 7:14 p.m., 21900 block of Alma Aldea. A caller reported six juveniles yelling and screaming at each other and disturbing residents while at RSM Intermediate School.

Welfare check, Sunday, 5:58 p.m., Santa Margarita Parkway and El Paseo. An informant reported a special needs 13-year-old sitting near a tree with no adults near him; the boy then ran out of the parking lot toward Santa Margarita Parkway. Deputies contacted the boy inside McDonalds, where the child said he was with a friend eating.

Disturbance—music or party, Sunday, 4:52 p.m., 31900 Mill Stream Road. There was a loud party with offensive language in the music. 

Disturbance, Sunday, 4:20 p.m., Via Honesto and Antonio Parkway. Several juveniles were throwing oranges at cars that passed through the intersection.

Disturbance, Sunday, 4:17, Coto de Caza and Santa Rosa. Three minutes earlier than the Via Honesto call above, juveniles were reportedly throwing oranges at passing vehicles at Coto de Caza.

Assist outside agency, Sunday, 11:55 a.m., 20900 Sky Country Circle. Deputies assisted a call in which a 48-year-old woman was having trouble breathing—perhaps in response to an allergic reaction. Ten minutes later it was reported the woman was breathing easily.

Keep the peace, Sunday, 7:09 a.m., on Calle Arcos. An informant said her father hit the neighbor's fence and the neighbor, in a confrontation, was saying the fence was damaged.

Traffic Hazard, Saturday, 11:03 p.m., at Santa Margarita Parkway and Empresa. A caller reported a man on a bicycle on the shoulder of the Santa Margarita Parkway Bridge who was weaving in traffice. The bicycle had no lights and the informant, who thought the cyclist might be drunk, feared he might be struck by a car.

Petty theft, Saturday, 6:55  p.m., 22200 block of El Paseo. The loss prevention team at Kohl's Department Store detained a female, who was cooperating with authorities.

Disturbance, Saturday, 6:34 p.m., Santa Margarita Parkway and Buena Suerte. An informant reported a group of juveniles gathered at the bus stop yelling at passing motorists. The kids, who had been talked to earlier by deputies, were just being loud.

Suspicious persons/circumstances, Saturday, 4:31 p.m., 23000 block of Empresa. A caller reported 2-3 boys on the roof of Tijeras Creek Elementary School.

Disturbance, Saturday, 4:25 a.m., from Wild Horse Loop. An informant said the two subjects living at the location had a party all night, and now were in a verbal argument.

Suspicious person/circumstances, Saturday, 4:17 a.m., on Via Lampara. A caller reported there appeared to be a drunk 16-year-old girl laying on the grass.
