Deputy Among 3 Injured in Head-on Crash at Alicia and Trabuco
Orange County Sheriff's Department cruiser crashes into another vehicle; both drivers injured, a third treated for smoke inhalation.
An Orange County Sheriff's Department deputy crashed with another vehicle Monday evening as two people were reportedly injured.
The incident took place about 5:25 p.m.
The unnamed deputy was driving east on Alicia answering a non-emergency call for service, according to the OCSD twitter feed. The Orange County Register reported the deputy's cruiser caught fire after the accident, but a good Samaritan used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames and was treated at a hospital for minor smoke inhalation

Both drivers were taken to the hospital, the deputy with minor injuries and the other driver with moderate injuries, according to reports from OCSD and the Orange County Fire Authority.
California Highway Patrol will conduct the accident investigation.
The accident was about a quarter-mile from where Deputy Adewale Olukoju crashed in June. An investigation into his accident is still ongoing.
