DUI Checkpoint in RSM Tonight

Orange County Sheriff will be on the lookout in Rancho Santa Margarita beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint in Rancho Santa Margarita tonight beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The exercise by sheriff deputies will continue through 2:30 a.m.

These checkpoints are set up to target individuals who are driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as well as those who may be driving without a driver’s license. Grant funding for this program was received by the Sheriff’s Department from the State of California’s Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The goal of this program is to reduce deaths and injuries that occur in Orange County. Through implementation of these events, the OCSD hopes to significantly reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage in each of its contract cities.
