DUI Task Force in RSM This Weekend

Orange County Sheriff patrols will be beefed up in Rancho Santa Margarita Friday night and Saturday morning.

Residents in Lake Forest, Rancho Santa Margarita and Mission Viejo should be on their best behavior this weekend, as deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department “Avoid the 13” DUI Task Force will be deploying to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers in the Department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign.

DUI saturation patrols will deploy on Friday, 7 p.m., until Saturday, 3 a.m., in of Rancho Santa Margarita, Mission Viejo, and Lake Forest. These patrols will be targeting areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests.

The goal of the program is to reduce the rate at which the citizens of Orange County are killed or injured in DUI related collisions. Through implementation of these events, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department hopes to significantly reduce deaths, injuries and property damage in each of our contract cities.

Deputies with the OCSD are committed to working hand-in-hand with its contract city partners in providing a safe environment for the motoring public.
