Motorcycle Crash on Alicia: Driver Recovering

The driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle suffered serious head trauma in Mission Viejo after clipping two vehicles and crashing into a third, police say.

A man who crashed a Harley-Davidson off an Alicia Parkway side street Sunday afternoon is recovering at Mission Hospital from a "major head injury," said Orange County Sheriff's Department Sgt. William McGovern.

The man, whose identity has not been released, crashed into a parked car and was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.

  • Although seriously injured, McGovern said he heard the man's health is improving.

The biker clipped two cars on Alicia Parkway "and fled the scene into the housing tract in Coronel," a small neighborhood street across from Alicia Park, McGovern said.

Sheriffs are investigating the biker for a possible hit-and-run. They have also reconstructed the scene of the accident, something only done in the event of a serious injury, McGovern said.

Hard to believe someone could sustain "serious head trauma" and (be able to) flee the scene.

I might not have made the sequence of events clear, Charles. The man first allegedly clipped two cars while traveling on Alicia Parkway. He then turned onto Coronel, where he hit a parked car. It is there that he sustained the head injury.

It is a sad thing, Rob. What can you tell us about him?
