Something seems awfully fishy about a film shoot in a Rancho Santa Margarita neighborhood.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, there was a curious sight at a Rancho Santa Margarita residence a week ago.

An informant noticed several vehicles at the residence, as well as lighting equipment, and that all the windows to the residence were covered with plastic.

This, the informant thought, was suspicious.

After reaching out to some of the people outside the residence, the informant was told they "were making a commercial."

Nevertheless, the informant called the cops on them.

It turned out they were college students making a film to fulfill a class project.

The call came April 27, 11:15 a.m., from San Sebastian.
