Motorcyclist Dies While Riding in a Group in Trabuco Canyon

Fire Capt. Steve Concialdi said the riders possibly were on the way to Cook's Corner, a restaurant and bar where motorcyclists congregate.

A man in his 30s was killed in a single-vehicle crash today while riding with other motorcyclists in Trabuco Canyon.

The crash, on Santiago Canyon Road between Falcon Street and Modjeska Grade Road, happened about 11:15 a.m., Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority said.

Paramedics arriving at the location pronounced the man dead at the scene, Concialdi said. No other injuries were reported.

The motorcyclist was going southbound on Santiago Road at the time of the crash, according to Concialdi.

Concialdi said the riders possibly were on the way to Cook's Corner, a restaurant and bar where motorcyclists congregate.

Santiago Canyon Road, which was closed in both directions between Falcon Street and Modjeska Grade Road while the crash was under investigation, was reopened around 5 p.m., according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
