No Need For Black and Whites as Black Friday Begins

In South Orange County, 'everyone behaved themselves' as the shopping season began in earnest.

The start to Black Friday, which began even earlier this year than in the past, turned out to be fairly uneventful in South Orange County, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. 

"We kind of braced ourselves for that, people struggling for items or stampeding, but we had nothing," Lt. Andy Ferguson said Friday morning about 4:30 a.m. "It was nice and quiet. It was good

"It was a pretty uneventful night. A lot of little calls."

But nothing major on a night when, in the past, there had occasionally been chaos as shoppers tried to get deals of the year. 

There was no such drama this time around. 

"Everyone behaved themselves," Ferguson said.
