On New Year's Eve, Dude Got A Bad Rap

Find out what happened in the minutes leading up to the New Year in Rancho Santa Margarita.

By Martin Henderson

The message and the medium apparently didn't jive on New Year's Eve as the dawn of 2014 brought with it an apparently huge misunderstanding. It's hard to imagine who feels worse, the witness or the subject.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, a disturbance was going down at 11:35 p.m. on Tuesday. An informant reported a man in all black, and wearing a hoody, was screaming that he wanted to kill someone.

The caller was unsure if the subject had weapons.

However, the informant was able to see the man walk into a residence and deputies with the OCSD were directed there.

According to the blotter, deputies contacted the subject. The suspect informed officers he was rapping.

He was advised at 11:53 p.m. to dial it back, and the suspect complied.

The call was made Tuesday, 11:35 p.m., from the 100 block of Via Serena.
